You say stubborn,
I say unrelenting.
You say smart ass,
I say witty.
You say shy,
I say reserved.
You say snobbish,
I say desire for higher standards.
You say weird,
I sat eccentric.
You say I am many things.
I know I am many things.
But what you say
Is what you say,
Words floating through
The ether trying to pull
On my emotional cords
Like a harp player
Learning to play.
And yet the strings remain silent,
The emotions remain pleasant
As I know what you say
Is only your opinion of me.
And when weighed
Against the truth of
What and who I am,
Your opinion is but a feather
Compared to a baby elephant.
You say I am a nerd,
I say I am seeking wisdom.
