Tadpoles swim in the
Pond. The old bull frog croaked
For the very last time.
Another attempt at Haiku, I think this is the closest I've gotten to the traditional, Japanese form.

haha...like the play with croaked...and for the last time...
my poem today is my first haiku as well...
This is intersting, I had not come across a haiku poem. The beginning of life with the tadpoles and the ending with the toad dying. Life and death. Thank you for sharing.
...and the season must be spring!!! A true Haiku is supposed to hint at a season, I believe. Nicely done.
...all in the day of a toad....a wonderful Haiku! :-)
Yikes! I am relating to the frog. Is that a bad thing? Hee hee. Love it!
Life and death in one perfect phrase. I'd say you mastered it. Is that your face on the cover of Martine?
very well crafted!
Thanks for the positive feedback, I must say this is my favourite in terms of Haiku. No, that's not me on the cover of Martine, butI think I will take a picture like it of myself and use it as my social media pics
Great haiku with a huge range for such a shoty. Loved it.
beautiful even if sad ..
Great use of croak, and the circle of life rings true.
You paint the cycle of life vividly in so few words.
As young are born, the old die. Such is life whatever the species. I think you did well with the haiku form. Smiles.
Regarding message and meaning, you've certainly met the intent of Haiku. And I love the reference to both ends of the life cycle.
Nice :)
Great haiku! I love haiku as it's short but disciplined. Nicely, Kim
