All The Same

The sun was gone,
Lost beyond the clouds
And I cared not.

All I cared about
Was this moment
Where everything was still
And for once
I felt I was a part of something.

Something bigger than
My body,
My thoughts,
My actions,
My world.

In my seeing,
In my feeling,
In my experiencing
This moment,
I became connected
To it all.

The sun eventually
Came out, I tasted it
On my skin,
And a new moment
Came to be and
I cherished it all
The same.

Love that feeling - that knowing - that one is connected to it All.

One must have the patience and the resolve to seek it all! That's how I read this! Nicely Kim!

it's like we have to stretch - psychically - up and out beyond our reach, down and in where we can't see - in order to be authentically here, present, pulling it all together in this one brittle body.
appreciate these words this morning.

I love those moments wherein we can find something else--maybe deeper or in someway, other--this piece spoke so eloquently to me about that experience of the other. Really a lovely write

The stillness spreads through your words.
A sort of 'shoulders down' moment.
Love the design of your blog.

It really is wonderful when one can have this kind of moment....that one realizes the interconnectedness with all. Loved your thoughts here.

So soft and gentle, this poem. May we all have moments like this.

Where everything was still
And for once
I felt I was a part of something.

This open delivers a fresh feeling to me something like the air after a passing shower. Beautiful yet simple.

Great to feel a part of something bigger than ourselves.

The feeling of unity -- no matter how illusory -- buzzes and inspires us. The echoes can make us happy and richer for days, months and years. I am happy for these deceptions. I am fortunate to have them often too.
