The Highway to Anywhere

On the road again,
The road stretches ahead
Of me and I follow
The yellow line
Wherever it goes.

I've been where
I've been and
God only knows where
I'm headed.

Hand on the wheel,
Tires on the asphalt,
And the desire
To wander in my heart.

One day,
I will come to a stop,
Finding a reason
To stay in one place.

Until that reason
Comes along,
I will keep rolling
On the highway
To anywhere.

nice..not bad at all to keep moving until we know we've arrived somewhere..

I love travel focused poetry as I believe life itself to be a long, never ending journey to somewhere?

Its great sometimes to be on that road, just drifting and the image coupled with words take me back to the road again.

We're always on the road, whether in reality or metaphorically. Nicely put.

Roots will happen when the time is ripe. For now, go while you can. Life is too short not to experience it!
Nice capture!

This makes me want to run. Simple, fierce and strong. I've got the itch to trip! Wonderful!

Very nice. I have a strong desire to travel, to get out of my land-locked state. One day...
