An Exceptional Year

came
Devoid of pomp
And circumstance,
Of fireworks
And joyous voices,
And I released a
Sigh….

It was as though
I had finished
A good book and
I was content
With the end
And that it had
Ended.

The new year
Had begun and
The old year
Had already started
To fade from my
Memory.

The new year
Has so much
Potential, so much
Opportunities ready
To be grabbed and
Taken advantage of.

So I toss aside
The fears, the sadness,
The confusion, the frustrations
Of the dead year
And walk confidently
Into the future
Along the path
I created.

This is going to be
An exceptional year.

Inspired by Theme Thursday.

Hi Kim and Lisa,

I oh so hope you have a wonderful New Year and that it is an exceptional year. Actually I wish that for everyone. It would be so nice if all wishes came true but then sometimes maybe not, at least not the bad wishes.

Such a nice poem for you to share with us for this weeks Theme Thursday. Very glad you did for I enjoyed it.

Happy New Year 2012.

God bless.

The first and last verses were effective in driving your message. I like the metaphor of running away from the person I am, I was ~

Nice to meet you at D'verse ~
